Today, I am not an animal lover

Usually I really like animals. I grew up with cats (calicos infact – a breed known to be somewhat psychotic), and am currently the owner of a dog, Millie and two cats: Bernadette and Snarky (the extremely shy one).

We’ve even been known to take in strays and get them placed in homes.

See? I love animals.
But here’s why I am not an animal lover so much today.
1. The first day of our kitchen project, our cat Snarky decided that she did not prefer the inconvenience of a kitchen renovation within close proximity to her cat box. So, making sure that I was well within view, she pooped a big one on the doormat just inside the front door….Her little way of saying “Welcome, work crew!”
2. Millie, being the social butterfly that she is, unable to resist the pull of friendly voices, has been making a habit of sneaking into the kitchen to hang out with the work crew and sponge off their already tight work space, ripe with nails and saw blades… hardly a place for a dopey dog.
3. Then, today, I awoke to discover that our hackberry tree in the front yard was completely jam-packed with robins. Literally hundreds of robins chirping gawkily and bending the branches under their winter weight. I thought this was super cool until I realized that they were eating the seeds off the hackberry and pooping all over our car, parked directly below. It was like target practice.

So, today, I am not an animal lover.
Tomorrow perhaps my loving spirit will return.

HAHAHAHHAHA. That car window is so gross! I would have done the same thing. (Oh! Look at all the cute birds. How cool… wait a minute…)

LOL!!! Your birds made a trip to our yard yesterday…thank goodness no cars were parked under the trees. The robins sure are fat. I guess they’re eating good.

Kate, we walked past your shiny little red sportscar this weekend (sa-weeet ride!). I bet the robins abstained from pooping on it ‘cuz it’s so purty!

Today, me neither. The plumber is here so Millie is barking, Bernadette is trying to sneak into the basement or behind the tub, and who knows where Snarky is. It’s a little stressful.
